Off the Clock, Exhibit Design, 2024
Located at the entrance to the College of Design at North Carolina State University, this temporary exhibit installation displayed the work of professors that they do outside of the classroom. The displays were made primarily of reclaimed pallet wood and were intended to contrast the grandiose aesthetic of the space. The design and construction methods were inspired by Nomadic Furniture by James Hennessey and Victor J. Papane, Autoprogettazione by Enzo Mari, and the Japanese Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014.
This project was funded with a Snapdragon Grant from VAE Gallery and The Andy Warhol Foundation

Space Analysis
The choice to install the exhibit in the lobby of Brooks Hall was inspired by the lack of space for long-term art displays within the College of Design. The lobby was identified as an underutilized area, especially as it acts as an entrance to the department. However, the solid concrete walls created the need for a free-standing display method. The octagonal room made for the perfect space for an “in the round” arrangement of displays.
